Film slated for global cinema release on 6th June
DUBAI: Ten years after their last romantic film Bin Roye, Mahira Khan and Humayun Saeed returned to the spotlight with infectious energy and humour at a press conference held in Dubai.
The event, hosted by Parallel Lines Media, took place at the bustling City Fountain Views Cinema inside Dubai Mall, attracting regional media and film enthusiasts eager to get a glimpse of the much-anticipated rom-com Love Guru.
The film, directed by Nadeem Baig and written by Vasay Chaudhary, is set to hit theatres globally on 6 June 2025. At the press conference, the lead stars discussed the film’s theme, production highlights, and their experiences returning to the big screen together after a decade. With a mix of wit, candid banter, and reflective thoughts on modern love, the duo offered a spirited insight into what promises to be a major cinematic release from Pakistan.
Mahira, radiant in a summery ensemble, opened up about her character – a perfectionist architect navigating romance in the age of dating apps. “I know I play someone very composed on-screen, but off-screen I’m anything but,” she joked while fixing a broken nail with makeshift glue. International distribution rights have reportedly been picked up by a global distributor, with advance bookings opening soon in the UAE, UK, Canada, and the US. Tickets are expected to range from Dh40 to Dh80 depending on the cinema and screening format.
The Dubai event concluded with photo sessions, media interviews, and the announcement of a red-carpet premiere scheduled for early June. Promotional tours in London and Toronto are also planned before the film’s worldwide release.
